Sustainability

The founder -

Prilla Collective was created in Sydney Australia and is now based in Melbourne.

The creator Bowen is passionate about sustainability and the planets environment.

Learning about being environmentally aware and sustainable from a young age, she was eager to build a brand with absolutely nothing going into landfill and educating her own generation as much as she can.

Sustainability and manufacturing -

Prilla fabrics are made from REPREVE®, a leading performance fibre made from recycled materials (including plastic bottles). Production of REPREVE® offsets using new petroleum during manufacturing, uses 45% less energy, emits over 30% fewer greenhouse gases and uses 20% less water. We have ensured our manufacturers are sweat shop free and pay above the award wage, which is vital to our brand vision.

Finding a sustainable manufacturer was the biggest step in the creation of Prilla, and we are so grateful to be working with the a very talented team who help make our designs come to life.

Packaging -

Everything down to our mail bags/swimsuit packaging and even post labels are eco-friendly, our packaging is biodegradable and mailing bags are 100% recyclable. The mailing bags have been properly sourced & engineered compostable materials provide a Short Carbon Cycle solution. No matter what happens to it, it will degrade back into the environment where it came from, therefore ‘Zero Long Cycle Carbon’. As per studies, it will take 45-90 days based on oxygen/temperature to degrade.

Love always,

Bowen
